A Sioux Falls man has been convicted of forgery after he took financial advantage of his senior neighbor, according to a release from the South Dakota Attorney General.
Ronald Whalen, 47, could face up to five years in prison after a jury found him guilty on one count of forgery.
The charge stemmed from a Jan. 30 incident, the release said, and gave no further detail.
The case was investigated by the South Dakota Attorney General’s Elder Abuse and Financial Exploitation Subdivision. A sentencing date has not been set.
